Ok I am going to show my lack of knowledge on armor. What the heck are they? Looks to me that someone is emptying their armor museum.
I identified an MBT-70 (remember that one), a Pershing, M-48, a proto-type super heavy tank from the late 1940’s. Yeah, it does look like a museum is relocating. [:^)]
Patton museum moving or is Aberdeen moving
I think most of the Patton museum is moved, Rob G would know. By the shap of some of them, it could be from the Aberdeen storage areas. If they are down by Manny they are headed into Ft Benning.
Rounds Complete!!
Looks like the Grendel from the Patton museum and the US T-34 heavy tank prototype. Must be moving the Patton museum stock from the holding area they were in down to their new home at Fort Benning. Just a hunch. (please don’t let 'em be cut up!)
Pat.
Glad to see you’re taking care of that Canadian postal strike. LEAVE NO MOJO OR GADGET BEHIND !!!
It’s the former Patton Museum collection heading to Ft. Benning. It used to be the Patton Museum of Armor and Cavalry. The Patton Museum stays at Knox, the Armor and Cavalry museum moves to Benning.
For those of you who have been at the Patton Museum a year or more ago, going there now is like night and day.
Using your previous trips to Knox as a guide, here is a basic armored vehicle tour if going to Knox.
Step 1: drive on US 31W to Fort Knox, if coming from the north, stop at the M60A1 at Muldraugh Hill. If coming from the south stop at the M103 in downtown Radcliff.
Step 2: place a burlap bag over your head and have a family member drive to the museum.
Step 3: Have them guide you into the area by the museum restrooms. Take off burlap bag.
Step 4: walk to gift shop, look around the area where Patton’s Cadillac is.
Step 5: place bag back on your head and have them drive you away.
That’s about all the armor you will see.
Just means Manny gets to play on and swing from the barrels of more tanks, now…
BTW…that Georgia soil doesn’t look red enough; needs more rust.
These pics were taken near Salzburg…
…needs more salt…
I’d say a couple meet that standard.
…yes…
Hey manny, i hope you dont mind, i grabbed the pics to email to my other halfs dad. Hes quite keen on tanks. Also an excuse to send him my wish list when they go near hannants in london[:D] He promised to send me photos on the inside of the shop if he can. Just to wind me up lol.
No problem…I wonder what tank this is on the right???

The Tiger III…actually the German American MBT-70

The tank on the right was salvaged from a Godzilla movie…
remember the one he stepped on?
If any of you MOJO’s can identify the car I was driving based on the snippet of side mirror, etc. caught in the pic…I’ll post an actual pic of myself in here wearing my full-dress uniform…
