CR.90 Tantive IV (Rebel Blockade Runner) - Star Wars

I have long wanted a Rebel Blockade Runner in kit form. I did Bandai’s tiny one a few years ago, even attempted to add lights, but that was a fail simply due to lack of space to run wires. I found this on eBay a couple of months ago. It is 3D printed. I know very little about 3D printing, other than it is becoming more common as a method at producing components for commercially available kits, or even entire kits. No scale, but it measure about 8" in length.

I painted this with Squadron’s starship colors. Starship Gray #3 seemed to best approximate the almost white gray the original model builders used. I picked out panels with Starship Gray #1, a slightly darker grey, and Vallejo Radome Tan. The engine lights are clear orange painted atop a base of white. Weathering is a mix of AMMO’s starship wash and metal slag (a pigment applied around the engine nozzles). The stand is an acrylic base I picked up from a guy on eBay who makes them for spaceship/scifi miniatures.

Nice!

I was gifted a Bandai Blockade runner, something I did not consider buying, but I enjoyed it immensely. It was so crammed with fine detail, and combined with an aftermarket decal set that performed like a champ, that it satiated my appetite for a larger kit.

Always loved the Tantive IV, and thought it deserves a big, detailed kit… but now I might have to hunt down one of these. Really nice finish on it, @Aggieman. The red in particular looks great.

Those small Bandai Star Wars ships are so well-engineered and like you said, jam-packed with detail!
