anyone out there (big model corporations) have any plans or ideas to release some 1/24 or 1/25 scale police car lines? I mean how about a Dodge Diplomat? That car was the workhorse for PD’s all over the country for years!!! Even better, how about making some 4 door version of those old mopars so we can make our PD cars! Granted the best ever police car is available to make (1996 Chevrolet LT-1…sigh…) but some of those older lesser known cars arent (Mid 80’s? How about some old Crown VIc’s?) Let me know what you think
Actually I’m laughing as I read this thread…I was thinking of a dio where cop had a street racer pulled over and was writing him a ticket…
I would love to see a crown vic or caprice model come out so it could be modified…or even have a cop car version come out…
They did firetrucks…gotta be cop cars out there somewhere…
Revell had a 91 Caprice, and Lindberg had a 94 Crown Vic. Try Hobby Heaven, or one of the mail order outfits. Maybe E-Bay. They should Still be around. Both were snappers, but the Caprice had full enging and chassis detail. It is a very nice kit, and belies it’s snapper name.
Very good to know midnight…when I’ve been purchasing my kits I’ve avoided snap togethers like the plague!
Lol…
Although I’ve been thinking about having a few on hand for when my nephew comes into town…
Might as well get him addicted early eh?
Yep, good idea, snappers are a great way to get them started. Like I said, don’t diss the Revell kit for sure, it is simplified, but very well detailed. You will not be disapointed!!
I can’t remember the kit company, but I believe there is a level 1 or 2 kit of a fire chief’s crown vic from the Orange County California Fire Department. I had it to use the radios and decals and have since lost the box.
ok here is the list of cop cars johan 68 ply fury came with 4 diff city decals
mpc had the mid 70’s ply dodge cars only 1 decal choice on those
and amt put out a 1970 ford ltd and a 1970 chevy impala could be built as police or fire chief cars

You can modify the 1994 Impala SS , and the Lindbergh and Revell snappers are good…but, most modern cars are white w/ colored graphics. Go vintage iron. Plenty of good books, and the choices are many until about 1955 when the police pkg. was introduced. Have fun
