Completion #4, 2025: Zoukei-Mura F-4C Wild Weasel IV

Started June 19, completed Sept 20.
This is my ninth Z-M Phantom, and the first
using the kit decals.

These WW F-4Cs were modified at depot level for the necessary equipment and painting, so the camo pattern is different from McDonnell factory standard. As usual I used Mission Models acrylic paints.
MMP-058 FS34070 Dark Green
MMP-066 FS34102 Medium Green
MMP-038 FS 33446 Desert Tan
MMP-095 Camouflage Grey
Note that I didn’t use the “specified” FS30219 for the upper surface tan. Photos of these aircraft show a much lighter tan. So I substituted Desert Tan which looks OK to my eyes.

The only aftermarket product I used was a Quinta F-4C cockpit, although the WW rear IP is different from the standard C version, so I used the kit decals.

Flat coat was Liquitex Flat Varnish, thinned to 10% with MM thinner and sprayed in light coats until I achieved the desired flatness.

Model was weathered to show a “used” but not “abused” finish.

For this boxing, ZM included canopy masks which fit much better than third-party masks I have used.

Decals - all ZM kit
airframe 150
external stores 60

You could always say it was sun bleaching…

Turned out great. Great looking cockpit details in that shot through the canopy. Well done.

That’s a beautiful bird.

That is a really nice looking model of my all-time favorite jet fighter!
