Thank you so much for the offer jeaton01, I’m most humbled. Eagles90 sent me a complete kit that has replaced and or have parts needed to build a B-25J Mitchell. I was missing nacelles, engine, propellers, cowlings, part of the rear tail. Lol! That is so crazy! So I now have what I need sir. Once again, thank you so much for trying to help me, I greatly appreciated.

While Mrs. Toshi sleeps due to her chemo session, I’ve been keeping myself busy. Laundry is going as the home care nurse has started that. I’ve been trying to help around the house as well.
I also started on the Avenger kit. I glued what was needed on the Equipment Rack and painted and weathered. Below are three photos so tell me what you think.

Thank you mustang1989. You honor and humble me. I know that these 1/32 Trumpeter kits have between 300-500 parts. So detailing is definately the fun part. I try my best to no avail to bring it to life. Lol! I do know these Pacific Theater Aircraft got beaten up and weathered really bad especially dive bombers and torpedo bombers. If I’m correct, they were lucky to even make it back half the time.
I guess or at the very least, that’s why we build styrene kits like these and or others like this. To represent our history so that the generations never forget. That’s why I have “Young Master Ezra” work with me. First is because I love him, second because his fine motor skills like mine can progress forward to the next level, and third but not least to keep the traditions going all the while having fun! And that’s one of the key things in life, to have fun and respect.

Thank you so very much Greg! Yes, lately between doctors visits, and taking care of just the everyday details, things get busy. But I enjoy that as some days are laidback and Mrs. Toshi and I take advantage of that as well. Lol! When “Young Master Ezra” visits, things get very exciting. As he learns how to make models, I see his vocabulary grow and his knowledge for things expand and grow. I’m just blessed to have such a community like this for support and friendship!

To my fellow forum members,
This past weekend, the Toshi’s had a blast. On Friday evening, we (Mrs. Toshi, Ezra, and I) went to Applebees an eatery at 10:00pm at night just to hang out and have a late night bite, something we normally won’t ever do.
On Saturday, we sat and chilled and watched cartoons with Master Ezra. That’s something, we all used to do when there was only ABC, NBC, CBS, and a off the air channel up start called PBS. Lol! We then went shopping for some supplies for our Sunday family excursion.
Sunday we drove an hour and a half out east towards PA. We went to Ashtabula, Ohio of where Mrs. Toshi’s older sister lives. There, Mrs. Toshi got to get a long needed change of scenery, relax and not think of chemo, and just chat with her family. Master Ezra on the other hand had his first hand experience exploring Aunty Karen’s and Uncle Mike (Jeri’s Sister and Brother In-law) 100 acre forest and pond.
There for the first time, Master Ezra got to fish for stripped bass, blue gill, frogs, weeds of which was his majority of his catch Lol, see heron, geese nesting (Yes, it’s spring here in Ohio), deer, chipmunks, and a male Turkey tending his female turkey flock! We then had a cookout of ribs, burgers, roast, Chinese Char Siu Chicken, Sushi Grade Rice, green beans, Mac and cheese, and Aunty Karen’s Hawaiian style potato salad. Why am I sharing all of this information?
Because this is what’s called modeling! Taking life’s experiences and turning these tiny seconds in time into our love. Be it painting, music, sculpting, etc. All an art form in respect! But most important of all check out the MALE TURKEY strutting his way through aunty and uncles drive way. Lol!!!
And what am I building? You guessed it a TBF (Turkey) Avenger. Now how ironic is that. Life’s experiences FSM Forum Members! The KARMA of Turkey! Lol! Lol!
The last two photos are a partial build of the bomb bay. Yes, it’s 4:35am and I couldn’t sleep due to the fun I had today a natural buzz. The piece is just a clean painted build, there’s no weathering done yet. I just wanted to share my detail painting. Weathering is up next. Enjoy my photos and story. Wow, Tosh–the quality of that kit looks fantastic! Several years back I built an Academy TBM-3 variant and what a dream your kit is in comparison. That is impressive.
I will be watching and have fun with Ezra building it.

Yes, I keep reading members complain about Trumpeters weird set ups. Non/ill fitting odd shape parts etc. For what it is, that might be so. But to each his own. Like you my friend Bakster, I mirror your comment; “Wow, Tosh-the quality of that kit looks fantastic!” I completely agree, not every kit is perfect yet not every kit is a 1/32 Trumpeter! Lol! It’s the I’m having fun factor that’s the key!
And Ezra and I are having fun! I’ve built this exact kit two or so years ago and donated to the Eagles Club. So I definately need to build it again, this time with Master Ezra. And I’m keeping this build. Lol! I too built the Academy Avenger, it was a 1/72. What scale was your Avenger my friend? Academy does a great job with their kits.

Monday mid-morning with Ezra building the other half of the Bombay Area. With my help, Ezra utilized a Tamiya cutter and successfully cut out the pieces needed.

Hi again, Toshi. The kit I built was their TBM-3 USS Bunker Hill 1/48 scale. The kit had very good detail, but I was a bit disappointed in a few things. I had a lot of trouble fitting the engine cowl, and worst of all, the wings had a number of sink marks. I also hated their instructions. This kit was a re-pop, so I was able to find better instructions through a FSM friend under if I recall correctly, the Accurate Miniatures version.
Having said all that though, the plane came out great, and it even got published in an issue of FSM under their ready gallery. Like you said–no kit is perfect, but I drool over the PE, the masks, the separate flaps, and all the nice detail that your Trumpeter kit offers. I would have been in heaven building that. [:P]
I just viewed your images of Ezra helping out. That is priceless and what a joy that must be for you. It warms the heart to see him helping. [<:o)]
