Completed - Tamiya P-51B "The Hun Hunter ~ Texas"

This is a ship I’ve wanted to build for a long time. Henry Brown is one of my favorite pilots - a fellow Dallas boy and one hell of a pilot. Rather than try to spell it out myself - here’s an account of the fateful day of April 11, 1944:

Apart from Brown’s rather colorful career with the 355th, the P-51B he flew in April 1944 also sported a rather distinctive scheme of RAF Dark Green upper surfaces over bare metal - at a time when many P-51s were sporting olive drab over neutral gray. That all combined with the sobriquet “The Hun Hunter ~ Texas” made this one a must-build.

Okay…fine…here are some the pics…

Another beauty you have build there DoogsATX.

Nice Doogs! How long did that one take to build?

Will

Thanks gents! Will - this one officially took 60 days, but subtract a week I was out on vacation + a few misses due to being too tired, etc to hit the bench, plus the consideration that I was building this in parallel with another kit - had I been tackling it solo it probably would’ve been closer to 35-40 days.

Another nice build - love the background as well.

Yep, that’s another beaut. Always a pleasure.

She’s a beaut! I like those mustangs; have a couple of B’s and D’s in my stash.
