Completed STS-106 Space Shuttle diorama

I started this project on the 28th of October, 2024. If you ever want to try something new, model wise, buy a paper kit. The two that I used for this project are extremely detailed. The process to assemble them is not hard at all. They come with very detailed instructions. I was short two NASA emblems. They go on the sides of the fuselage. When I get them in the mail, I will put them on. Thanks for all the comments, and compliments. If you see anything out of place, let me know so I can fix it. “Go at throttle up”

Beautiful :star_struck:

I worked in the aerospace industry my whole career, and could not see any sign that these were not full scale images.

Is all of that paper, or just the Shuttle and fuel tank? At any rate, what a beautiful diorama!

Thank you. The crawler and mobile launchpad are paper kits. The Shuttle is Revell Germany, the boosters and liquid tank are from Monogram.

WOW….now that’s some amazing work! It looks so full scale realistic! You should be super proud.

What was your greatest challenge?

Well Done. Your combination of paper and plastic is in the best traditions of modeling.

Thank you very much. The challenge was getting used to the construction of the paper kits. This was the first time that I’ve ever built one. I really didn’t know what to expect other than what I had read online. When I arrived at my house, I was pleasantly surprised. The print detail was amazing. All of the images are printed on heavy card stock. I started the mobile launch platform first. Very slow going about halfway through the build things started to pick up. By the time I got to the crawler, I had a much better understanding of how things needed to be done..

Can you tell us who produced the paper kits?
