Completed Models - behind in posting

I’ve had a good Winter/Spring since December – Quite a few kits completed but due to work on the basement my photography hasn’t kept pace. All 72nd.

First model - I picked this up at a show for $2. Not sure of the manufacturer as it doesn’t match any known sprues. It’s a Spitfire F.24, based at Hong Kong in the early 1950’s. I cann’d the cockpit from a Revell Vb, the landing gear from an Airfix Vb and the prop is Aeroclub as those parts didn’t exist in the “kit” or were just blobs. I don’t normally do natural metal schemes and this finish shows why.

Next up is the Fujimi F Mk XIVe. OOB, I started this kit over 15 years ago when it was new and kept gooning up the leading edge yellow stripe. I parked it for at least 2 moves and decided to finish it this year.

Just this week I finished our local club theme build - Anything from Viet Nam. It’s the Monogram F8F in French AF markings. I fixed the tail, shortening it by a scale foot; removed the cannon bulges to represent the earlier F8F-1 with machine guns. Decals are by a Russian maker and took the strongest stuff I had to get the decals to settle down over many applications.

In May the theme was “That 70’s model.” So I dusted off the old Airfix Hurricane I and finished it by hand painting, just like I did when I was a kid.

February (or was it January?) was World War I – So I did the old Esci D.Va in Richtofen’s Jasta 11.

Finally is the Hobbyboss P-40C AVG, again OOB.

Comments welcome. Hopefully next month I’ll have my photo booth up again.
