Completed after months of toiling...

So here it is… One finished F117… I built it for my wife (who is in one of the pictures, in a picture he, he). The link includes the one pic of the build that I took, but its ok… Next on the bench is either the 1/35 UH-60L or the ever special P-51D… Or maybe I will do the P-47… or the F-16!!! I don’t know!!! Too many choices, not enough time!!! Anyway, look for more pics of my up coming build (and more of them… I mean it) and have a great modeling day!!!

I don’t do jets but have been fascinated by the stealth since Gulf 1 and yours looks tops. How did you get that black to look so………stealthy? Is there significance to the photo behind? BTW, it took courage to set that down in close proximity to the dog, that could have been a disaster!

The photo in the background is of my wife when she was still active. She worked on those things for 6 and a half years before the plane was grounded. I was going to build a scheme that she worked on but couldn’t find the flight or squadron numbers, so I just went with kit decals. The color was simple… Just off the shelf patio furniture spray paint… Flat black of course!

Sarge,

Your 117 is real nice. The only constructive comment I would make is that it looks like you’ve got a bit of decal silvering. Did you try to gloss coat before decals? I’m working on a Tornado right now as a ‘quickie’ - wow was that an underestimation! and I see a big difference btw the way the decals sit down on airframe where I gloss coated with Future, and the drop tanks where I’m decaling over the MM enamels without any gloss coat.

Keep up the good work! I’m a hellacious slow builder too, but with practice, they start getting finished faster!

Yeah, nice work there, it can be hard to get black to look ‘right’ but she looks good.

Love your dog too!

I like the dog too.
