Completed 1/35 Trumpeter K1 MBT

Fitting was a little bad but overall a very detail and inexpensive model kit. Good for those who wanted to go for some exotic armour.

Harshman,

That is a nice representation of some modern armor. Inspite of the fit issues, you have built up a mighty fine piece of armor there. I like the light dusting on the sides. There were a couple of things that caught my eye.

First was the tow cables. The ends look just fine. The cables themselves look very silver. Cables tend to be a darker metallic color and not rusted. Rusted cables are dangerous to use.

Second was the tracks. The color and weathering on them looks good. It looks like there is some sag on the fore and aft portions. These tanks have live tracks and don’t sag. This could have been a result of the fit issues and the kit not lending its self to being able to tension the tracks.

Overall you have thrown your hat into the forum with a very nicely done MBT. Thank you for posting this and I look forward to following more of your works.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks, I will slowly improve the cable. There are still 3 korean crew figures for me to work on for this tank.

As for the track, I think it is one of the biggest weakness for most of the Trumpeter armour kit.

Super job Harshman,

I don’t do modern armour so I’m not really the best person to make any critisisms!

The one thing I did notice: In the final picture it looks like the Join in the tracks on the RHS is at the bottom part of the run? Correct me if I’m wrong but there is definately a gap of some sort there? I can’t see the RHS run.

If I’m right would it be possible to move the tracks round so this join is at the top of the run and out of view?

Obviously, if I’m wrong my apologies!

Excellent build sir, top job!

Great job on the camoflauge. I like the nice understated look to the build.

very nice try, esp. for a Trumpeter kit…[Y]

only 1 thing…were the correct colors used?? I mean internet pics of the real thing showed brighter colors…Or was it just the camera and lighting??

I am not sure too. Some of the internet photo i see is sometimes dark sometimes not. Gunze Olive drab is used. But the darker color is also due to my dark wash.

Below is a actual footage.

Have no fear, dear friend…with Trumpeter’s dirt low prices on this OR on the K1A1, you can give your next tank a brighter camo [:P][:P]
