Colors of Jerry Cans, tarp's

What are the best colors for jerry cans, german ammo boxes, tarps, etc.[?]

not sure about tarps, mabye some sort of kaki. For jerry cans they should pretty much the same color as the vehicle,or its clime (i.e. Afrika Korps would be a dark yellow, if vehicle is in russia maybe a german gray. Ive also seen halftracks that have jerrycans withthesame camo job.

I agree with John on the jerry cans. For almost all of my canvas I use Model Master Field Drab #30118. I don’t know if it’s completely accurate, but it looks good with a little weathering. I use it for tarps, truck seat cushions etc. That’s my two cents anyway.

I did an e-bay search a while back (surprisingly good resource site) and found a couple of pics of extant jerry cans up for auction. Had much of the original paint still on it and some good detail pics.

Give it a shot.
