I need a good source online for color cockpit photos. Particularly WW2 birds. Right now I am working on Hasegawa’s Hurricane MkIID and would love to find a good detailed photo of it’s cockpit.
I’m sure there are several good books available showing cockpit details but my funds don’t allow for me to own any. If you know any good links post em here! Thanks [8D]
Here’s a link to MANY walkaround sites. There is a Sea Hurricane cockpit photo under WW II cockpits (# 151). There may be many more. Good site to bookmark.

Hope this helps !
Thanks Pixilater! That site is excellent. It will at least help me get that Hurri inst. panel fairly accurate.
If anyone else knows of any other sites, post em. One can never have too many references. [:D]
I was looking for something else and stumbled onto this site. maybe it will help!!
Drat, I entered before I was through!! This site contains a lot of links to aviation sites. I spent about five hours on it yesterday!!!
roadkill - the link doesn’t work. Perhaps you weren’t on the site long enough to write it down ? (just kidding !)
Funny, it worked fine awhile ago. I found it in the yahoo search for aviation enthusiast corner. it has a bunch of links to aviation sites. I spent two hours on the one for the Grumman fighters.
okay I figured it out. drop the l off of the html, it should behtm.
okay it works fine now, sorry, my mistake
good sites
http://www.sam.hi-ho.ne.jp/ki-44/ This link features WW II Japanese Army & Navy instrument panels, German & Japanese gunsights are also included, along with references. A good site.
Here is a site that I have used sometimes - specifically for instrumentation and dashboard configurations.

I know it’s not any kind of website, but I find one of the best sources for RAF WW2 types is the reproduction “Pilots Notes” often found on sale at air shows. They usually have lovely clear cockpit info, and not just the instrument panel. They also often have other useful goodies too
