while trying to understand the difference between the green cockpit color of the UK and US WWII aircraft I stumbled over this while searching for a close match to Humbrol 226:
What is more correct?

At a quick glance, it looks like you’ve got ‘bronze green’ on the left, ‘interior green’ on the right…the latter would be a closer match for Curtiss’s own interior green mix.
However, since you didn’t say which P-40 mark you’re doing or the time period involved–or whether you’re talking bulkhead colors, or individual components–there is a broader range of possibilities.
Best do a web search by individual model type, and start ‘straining’ some more specific information.

The kit is Airfix P-40b but I was actually going to do it in Russian service.
And when I check (google) this now I read that in that case it should most likely have been a P-40C or later.
My issue was that when I checked the Airfix instructions they only refered to Humbrol colors. And the cockpit interior is Humbrol 226.
The two colors in the picture are both supposed to represent Humbrol 226.
I will check IPMS Stockholms page - Thanks for that advice

In that case, I’d say the Humbrol color is probably an excellent match for the color the Berry Bros. Supplied to Curtiss for their interiors. If there’s any slight color tone change you wanted to make, it could easily be done by dry-brushing if you intend to weather your cockpit.
