Clear parts

Good evening Modelers, er morning, How does one remove masks residue from clear parts without screwing it all up? I haven’t had this problem before from this popular manufacturer, appreciate any input, thanks.

I would try a piece of tape.Place it on the part sticky side down, and pull it off . The residue should stick to the tape and you can remove it that way. It may take a couple of tries to get it all.

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) is great for that. It dissolves gummy residue but will not hurt the plastic. It may however, affect some acrylic paints. I use enamels, so before using it around acrylics, do a test.

I agree with Don and have also used a toothpick to remove residue and paint seepage.

If you Futured the canopy don’t use alcohol: WD-40 will clean and ,make the glass sparkle and anti-static. WD-40 wipes off with a dry cloth, but don’t put a lot of it, or it’ll end up everywhere. G.

Thanks Gaston, I never would have thought to use WD-40, I will try that method, the alcohol didn’t work, luckily the canopy is permanent yet, appreciate the advise.
