Cleaning Mold Release Agents

What is the FASTEST way to clean off mold release agent from resin?

I just use good old dish soap and water in the sink. Just like washing dishes, soapy water in one sink, clean water in the other and I use an old soft tooth brush to scrub with. Wash, rinse, and either air dry or use a hair drier set on air, but no heat. Just be real careful of the smaller parts.

I too use the dishsoap method and find it to work fine. I agree with recommending using a toothbrush to gently scrub the parts. Just be sure not to use to much soap and make sure the parts are rinsed well.

I’ll go along with the two earlier posts with the additional caveat of not being in too big a hurry with the cleanup. Anything you miss in this phase will cost you later on in the build.

me too dish wash and warm not hot …(the right word is lukewarm or tepid isnt it?).

I’m with the fellas above, I use warm water and Dawn detergent.

But if that doesn’t satisfy you, several posts I have read and the Oct/Nov? issue of FSM suggests using “Westley’s Bleche White” (sp). An automotive product.

I haven’t used it but it seems very popular among modelers.

tub of water with mild dish detergent and a soft toothbrush.
