Cleaning airbrush with heat?

One of my Paasche H needle/nozzles is clogged with acrylic paint. The pain is dry and using paint thinnner does not remove it.

Since the parts are metal (I’ve removed the plastic gasket ) I thought I might put them in the oven .

I know fire and paint do not go together, but I wonder if heating the nozzle parts will melt the paint and allow me to use the parts again.

Try Soaking it in Superclean or Simple green…

Or if those don’t work try Windex or Formula 409.

Laquer thinner will get rid of that dried paint in no time.
Putting parts in the oven is only asking for trouble as this might affect the part’s heat temper or could actually distort them. if hot enough for long enough.
Cheers !!!

My airbrush had acrylic paint clogging the works. soaking in rubbing alchohol for 10 minutes clears it all out.

I agree with the others, soak it in some lacquer thinner and if that doesn’t work then spend another $3 and get a new one. It is not worth the trouble for such an inexpensive part. [;)]

ELO (Easy Lift Off) paint and decal remover works well. Not a bad investment either.

Engine degreaser will always work too, but you gotta be real careful with that stuff.

Also, since we are on the topic of engine degreasers, Coca-cola has been known to strip certain paints.

Well I am not sure which one fixed it, I had another thread with the same issue. In that one it was suggested that I put the parts in nailpolish remover.

I had let it sit in the Simple green over night, and saw no results. I then cleaned everything up and then let the two parts sit in the nailpolish remover. This morning, I checked and the paint was loosened up and/ or desolved.

I think I will give the thing a shot tonight and see how it works [:D]
