Sometimes I have seen one come back with a little streaking from whatever they were doing. What would be the chances of repainting it? You should be able to get a decal sheet for it, depending on scale.
Critical question- is the paint matt or gloss. If it is matt do not polish it or wipe it hard. Let water and detergent do the job. Hand soap- bar form is quite gentle.
I often use my airbrush to clean my models. I make sure there is no paint or thinner in the brush, so that I get a supply of clean compressed air. I sometimes have to use a soft brush to gently brush really stubborn dust while continuing with the air flow.
I have learned that these have a clearcoat on them that can be affected by cleaners. So the suggestion to use Matonnaise is not far ratched. Just odd.But, it m work. It has for me on older modern ship models.
