So my ex wife attempted to clean her wooden desktop SR-71 model with a disinfectant wet wipe and it left some white streaks on the surface.
Mild dish detergent and Windex didn’t work, tried a Pledge equivalent that a company that sells these things recommended. Not a great result.
My next idea is a dab of toothpaste little by little to polish it.
Any other ideas?

What is it made out of?
Sometimes I have seen one come back with a little streaking from whatever they were doing. What would be the chances of repainting it? You should be able to get a decal sheet for it, depending on scale.

You might try a damp microfiber towel. Those work great for just about everything and you can wash and reuse them over and over again.
I think I’d try a wood refinishing oil and/or some paste wax (hardware store items).

just try something simple as it looks like the wet wipe just left some of the disinfectant on.
just try some warm water and a cotton tip thingy on an area to see if warm water will redilute and remove.
You could get a kit and remake it too!
Critical question- is the paint matt or gloss. If it is matt do not polish it or wipe it hard. Let water and detergent do the job. Hand soap- bar form is quite gentle.
I often use my airbrush to clean my models. I make sure there is no paint or thinner in the brush, so that I get a supply of clean compressed air. I sometimes have to use a soft brush to gently brush really stubborn dust while continuing with the air flow.
This works particularly well on ship rigging.
This may sound crazy, but Mayonnaise.
My wife got the same result from cleaning our fancy dining room chairs. Google search suggested this and by gosh it restored the beautiful finish.

I have learned that these have a clearcoat on them that can be affected by cleaners. So the suggestion to use Matonnaise is not far ratched. Just odd.But, it m work. It has for me on older modern ship models.
