Classy Hobby M5 Stuart Light Tank (Late Production)

Overall, a pretty good kit, but has a major “limited run” feel about it. The plastic is somewhat soft, and some of the smaller parts are fragile. Detail overall is good, though not as sharp as I would like in some areas. And these guys went a little nuts with casting numbers, right down to numbers on the grousers and track guide teeth. The 37 mm gun barrel was replaced with an Aber aluminum barrel, and the machine guns replaced with Ringoresin castings, from the UK (you can find them on eBay–beautifully done). The figures are also from Classy Hobby, and they’re really nice, though they need some tweaking to get them to fit. It was fun to build, and pain to paint (all that surface area!). I had originally intended to hang a lot of stuff on it, but to be honest, I got
kinda sick of looking at it and I want to build, not paint. The figures are also Classy Hobby, the US Army Tank Commander and Tank crewman. Nice figures, but weird faces.

The tracks are workable but yikes … 65 shoes per track and five pieces per shoe. The results were beautiful and worth the effort.

Figures look good like the weathering

Link955 that looks fantastic! The Stuart light tanks have always been a favorite of mine and yours looks great. I still regret getting the 1/16 Achilles at last year’s nationals instead of this kit.

Many thanks!
I agree… I’ve always liked the M5A1, too. And the 1/35 scale version is just too small!

LOTS of depth in this build through the paint and weathering Mark and a build that you should be proud of. I absolutely love the color modulation and worn effects. You do some really good work is all I’ve gotta say dude. :+1:

Top notch work on the figures and the tank. The whole painting is very well done.
