Changing air regulator gauge on air compressor?

When changing a regular air regulator gauge on an air compressor too a hobby style air gauge (reading from 0-60 PSI for more precise control of air pressure output), do you have to calibrate the regulator on the air compressor to the new gauge? Or, do you simply swap the gauges out, and that is it?

Do I have to do anything else in this process? The gauge I currently have is a gauge that reads from 0-160 or something like that. The PSI increments are simply to large on the gauge to control air-flow acurately.

No, there’s nothing to calibrate. I would recommend wraping the stem of the gauge with Teflon tape to prevent air leakage.

FYI you can pretty much expect the new gauge to read differently. I don’t think any two read exactly the same until you get into the high-priced industrial or lab grade gauges.
