I’m a sucker for anything with straight wings. I wish Monogram would re-release their A-37. I’d snap one up in a heartbeat.

Well, it may not say Monogram on the box but this Encore kit is the Monogram kit with some enhancements and is currently available www.squadron.com/…/ec48002.htm
My dad called those ‘the most efficient converter of energy to noise known to man!’ 
Looks like they need more fuel tanks.
We also called them the 6,000 pound dog whistle.

I took advantage of one of Squadron’s sales and ordered this kit, along with the metal landing gear, underwing fuel tanks and decals (The decal set includes a couple of birds from Edwards AFB). It arrived a couple of days ago, and wow, it’s a nice kit. I hope it goes together as well as it looks in the box.
The T-37 used the J69 and the A-37 the J85 both jet engines. The XF-84H “Thunderscreach” probably beats them both. Remember the ‘Screach’ engine noise resonated at a frequency that caused ground crew to loose their lunch or worse.
My source tells me that the A-37 was a very thirsty airplane. Converted from a trainer they were a bit short on internal fuel and drop tanks were a necessity.
I found a recording of an F-84D Thunderscreach. Don’t turn this up too loudly like I did.
Did you’ll hear that Cessna is re-entering the combat aircraft market? Wonder how long before a kit of the new Cessna Scorpion arrives.
