Captain Jean-Luc Picard

My cousin’s son asked me if I was a “Trekker”, which I gladly responded “yes”. So he printed out this bust of Patrick Stewart as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard and one of Mr. Spock. I decided to do Picard first, in case I screw it up. I had to do some extensive sanding on his bald head due to the 3D printer, and it came out good. Although you can see some lines on the face. Specifically I didn’t want to touch the face, so I’m hoping things will come through with the painting process. Here are some WIP pics of the silvering and priming of the figure after sanding. Enjoy and wish me luck.

P.S. Push comes to shove, I do have very fine sandpaper and I just might be forced to use it on Picard’s face to remove those lines. Keep your fingers crossed.

Aha!

I see what you are referring to. I do believe if the plastic it’s printed from will let you you can wet sand and use Mr. Surfacer primer to make those lines go away. Pretty neat all in all. Are we going to get Worf and Scotty?

Oh that looks great! Not sure how to clean up the straitions in the resin. The primer ought to cover some of the small stuff but sanding the large ones is probably the best.

I wish I could find a full figure of Sisko to go with my Kirk and Picard figures.

This meme had the finished product missing. So as I stated this was a 3D printing. But all things considered I like how it came out. I hope you do too.
