canada's new 12 wheeled/turetted m113's

has anyone tried to make a 12 wheeler?can i get turrets for cdn. 113’s?

Hello , I have thought of it . The hard part would be lengtheing the hull , to accomodate the additional roadwheel . The turret shouldn’t be too much of a problem , Verlinden use to make a resin turret of this type , ( or very similar ) , or you could even use the turret from the latest Tamiya AAVP7A1 #35159. They call this turret UGWS ( Upped Gunned Weapons Station ) , and in the kit the turret assembly comes on a seperate sprue ( sprue " C ") . So may even be able to order just this sprue .Also if you check out any DND , Canadian Forces , or army.ca sites , I sure that you can find pictures of these vehicles . We have a number of these vehicles in Wainwright , AB , they belong to the Manouver Training Center .

tally ho!

the turrets on the 113s are recycled grizzly turrets(cadillac-gage 1m)

It is an M113A4 or Mobile Tactical Vehicle Light (MTVL). More info can be found here on all the different versions of it.

Link doesn’t work as a direct kink. Copy it into your browser and remove all this junk from the beginning : www.m113.com/mtvll.html" target=“_blank”>

I have also seen a model of one built. The builder too two M113 kits and cut them in half, adding the rear 3 wheels from one and the front 3 wheels from the other to stretch it. It was an Egyptian IFV, with a bradley turet on it, like this:

It looked pretty good.

does any body know if i can get a cadillac-gage 1m. turret in 1/35?

well I tried to find some stuff for you too mate, the only problem is, I was with the 1st Hussars out of London Ontario, so we only worked predominantly with Cougars and C2s… From my own research, I would have to say that Strathcona is pretty well on the money!
