Campbell Hausfeld FP2028

Hello,
Has anyone ever used the Campfeld Hausfeld FP2028 air compressor from Walmart for airbrushing? It has a one gallon tank and cost only $50.00.
Thank You, George

I have the earlier model of that compressor, bought mine early last year, works just fine for airbrushing, mine came with a pressure regulator and I bought a water trap for it. Well worth the cost if you like to use an airbrush!

I use one of those type compressors as well and they work fine… ditto on the water trap. they are about $11 at Wal Mart right where the compressors are… and a 1/4" male to male connecter to hook the airbrush hose to and you are all set!!

Works just fine,
a little noisey if that matters to you, But I live alone so if it bugs the neighbors…oh well.
They arn’t going to not make my dinner or deny me sex so who cares?

I have one as well. It’s noisy as hell, but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than a Badger or Aztec compressor, which usually don’t have a tank attached. I paid $68 for mine about a year ago, and I’ve been pricing Aztec models (without a tank) for $120. Some other brands are going for $199, without a tank. And they all have the same one-year warranty.

hey i have the earlier model i thinkj, its fp200300v… its a good compressor, does the job, but it is a lil on the noisy side. i will fill mine up, then switch it off and keep an eye on the tank pis, coz it keeps on cutting in and out when the psi in the tank drops below a certain point, which is real annoying as it goes on 4 a few seconds, then off for a few, then on again… scared the hell outta me one night when i first got it hehehe.

ps. the psi guage isnt very accurate,m as it only has 6psi increments, im gonna get a jhobby one soon so i have more precise control, but it is okay for now…
pps, when i start to spray the psi on the hose guage drops by aboput 5psi, then when i stop, it goes back up again. firstly, is this normal? and which psi should i go by??

I just got a Cambell Hausfeld a month or so ago, it has a 2 gallon tank with a pressure regulator. I added a water trap to it started using it right away. I have a badger 155 and have never used an airbrush before. I got the compressor at Harbor Freight for a hundred bucks. I was amazed at how easy the airbrush was to use, I said to myself why had I not done this years ago! (MONEY)!!! The level of realism on my models just improved immensly! Love it!
