Camouflage netting for tank

Hi,

I’m trying to find online, some type of rolled up camouflage netting for a

1:35 CVR Scorpion.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Value Gear makes some resin rolled camo nets that look pretty good. AFV Club makes a type that you can roll yourself after you paint it. On one of my recent builds I used a paper camo net product that I found on eBay from a company called Orange Hobby. You can use it as is, but it looks much better when painted.

You can also use a product from the pharmacy known as “rolled gauze” which is a net like material in a cotton/nylon bland that will need painting, patiently.

If you can’t find Cap’n AM netting; in the baking section of the supermarket, you can find cheesecloth. Its in white but you can paint any type of camo that you desire.

Might take a look in a local fabric store as well. Lot of different mesh types and sizes.

Thanks. Value Gear looks really good. Sometimes our vehicles in the army started to look more like gypsy caravans, rather than the sleek, clean images you see on the box covers…!

Cheap gauze. Stretched out to the desired size, soaked in coffee to stain then paint or add foliage etc. Always my go to!

Use caution around cheesecloth as rather a lot of that is now silicone impregnated to be “non stick.” WHich makes it complicated to paint.

Which can be an issue with some tuile at the fabric store, too. Rayon and some Nylon blends are also complicated to paint. But, the fabric store can be handy is you are keen on a specific netting size (what, you’ve never taken calipers to a fabric store?).

Fabric store also handy for finding the fat woolen thread that can be used to simulat the strpis of scrim and webbing used in some camo nets.

I have not (yet) justified one of the paper cutters, but I’d love to experiments with one for the new stype cut-out camo nets.

Given our site’s international composition, I was much more comfortable suggesting cotton gauze from the pharmacy and an easily available product to suit the request.
