Calling all Mustang experts!

[:)] Hi all,

I’m building a 1/48 Tamiya P-51D and I’ve done a little research which shows me that the aircrafts antenne wire starts from inside the cockpit, goes through the canopy glass towards the tail fin. OK, so some of you might be saying “everyone knows that!” but this is the first Mustang I’ve built and so I’ve been learning about the aircraft as I go along.
The one thing none of my info. tells me is how do you replicate this on a model?
I’ve done a few spits so I can get the wire from the outside of the canopy to the tail, I just cannot figure out how to do the seat to inside of canopy bit. I’m planning to have an open cockpit on my model and was wondering if any of you have stumbled across the same problem.

Any hints would be most welcome!

Thanks,

Darren[:I][:)]

What you need to do is:

Attach the wire to the radio
Drill hole in canopy
Slide wire through canopy
Attach canopy to model
Attach wire to tail

This should be the last thing you do to the model.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the Mustang builders family[:)]

Thanks for the info eagle334. I know it might seem blindingly obvious to most, but it does’nt hurt to ask first if one is unsure !

Cheers,

Darren
