CA doesn't work

My CA glues have stopped woking- they do not harden! Since these glues require some water as part of the hardening process, I am guessing the problem may be the weather. it has been very cold, and the humidity is super dry. I had run out of accelerator, so I ordered some. Hope that helps.

Maybe an old bottle? I had the same thing happen with an open bottle and even with accelerator it wouldn’t work (still stuck to skin for whatever reason). Opened a new bottle and problem solved.

It definitely goes bad over time try this stuff, lasts a lot longer then hobby brands never not finished a bottle

Old bottle is usually the culprit, could also be some sort of contaminant has gotten into it.

Tried several bottles, different ages, brands. Toilet paper won’t unroll, sparks all over.

Super Glue is inherently evil and it does have a shelf life. I use it mostly for filling seams and for gluing my fingers together. I concur with most everyone else, don’t buy the large bottle because it’ll go bad long before you use it up.

Got some BS accelerator. Tried a couple of my various bottles, they bonded within seconds. Seems to me that verifies lack of moisture as culprit. BTW, it was above zero this morning :grinning:

Your hunch is right: CA relies on moisture and temperature. Cold, dry air will halt cure; Also check that your glue isn’t expired—store sealed in the fridge for maximum shelf life

I use the Gorilla brand super glue with the blue cap and it always hardens before I can use up the bottle and I live in an area where it does get very cold in the Winter.

Wow havent had that problem, usually finish the entire bottle.

e, when I got the accelerator it worked fine. And as the weather armed up, the glue works even without the accltr.
