In my first attempt to align wings on a fuselage, I did poorly and am now trying to remove/move the piece by using Pro Debonder with little success.
Is this stuff any good for debonding plastic? Does it have a shelf life if un-opened? Any other product work better?

In my experience CA debonder attacks plastic, so be aware of this. I’ve never used Pro Debonder though, so perhaps it’s a different chemical than the one I’ve used. You might try softening the joint with plastic cement?
Judge - what product specifically do you use to soften plastic and how is it applied/removed? Sorry to be such a newbie but I want to learn these tricks before I screw everything up too much to finish! [banghead]
Can you use Nail Polish remover on styrene? It will debond CA from your fingers.
If this model is plastic then you are far better off using model glue like ambroid pro weld and tamiya thin. They will give you a much better bond. CA would good for a resin model. Having said that it might not be that hard to break the joint and clean it up with some sanding. I would honestly try that. I’d at least flex the wings back and forth, gently at first, and just see what happens.
But before I did anything I would think carefully about just fixing the joints with some putty and sanding. Likely some rescribing involved.
MaxPower - thanks for the advice. I did try the CA debonder and wiggled the wings but could see that I was cracking things so I quit before i ruined everything!
I used CA for the wings as I was trying to smooth some gaps but now think you are right that I should have bonded first with glue (I LOVE Faller Expert Cement with the fine needle applicator). Then I could have filled with CA or Green Putty when aligned and ready.
Oh well, Next model! [tup]
