I’m new to the forums, but not to modeling, doing it for many years. mainly armour in the 1:35 scale.
my question is, does anyone know of any companies or places that make C130 H-J Hercules interiors? im not just talking about the flight deck, but the entire cargo area?
Basically i want to make a Dio about the AME’s for the Bali Bombings a couple of years back. For those that dont know, AME (Aero Medical Evacuations).
I don’t know of any aftermarket interior details for the C-130 but the Testors/Italeria 1/48th kits have a good basic cargo interiors as a start for a “diorama”. Thought of having one of the AC-130.
I think all of the Testors/Italeri 1/48 C-130 kits have all the basic stuff to do an interior, but alot of the details will need to be scratchbuilt. The earlier AC-130 kits had more interior bits but, Italeri, in its infinite wisdom, has cut all the detail from the latest issue of that kit and the instructions call for the fuselage to be sealed. All the AM stuff for the C-130 that I’ve seen has been exterior modifications.
I built my wife’s 130 using the 1/48th kit. I detailed the flight deck, avionics bay including the window in the nose gear bay, and the cargo deck… The kit has since been destroyed but I retained some parts suce as the tail ramp, flight deck/avionics bay and some detail from the cargo deck including the web seats.
Mike Quan’s C-130 in the Gallery at aircraftresourcecenter.com shows two ideas - 1) making a cut-away, or 2) if fuselage is sealed and viewed from ramp per your reference photo then the need to add interior lights to see your handi-work. As with detailing 1/35th turret interiors, you need interior illumination to see anything through the hatch.
