C-47 landing gear

Does anyone know how the main gear of a C-47 retract? I want to build mine with the gear up and I can’t quite figure it out. If anyone has diagrams or can explain how it folds, I’d be most greatful.

Doug,

If you can fine a Squadon Signal In Action book on the C-47 there is a good shot on page 37 at the top showing the gear just starting to come up. If you look just above the main tire there is some cross bracing and the vertical strut is hinged right there. An actuator pulls the bottom of the top half forward alowing the gear to “unlock” and to scissor up. The trailing arm is just hinged at the aft attach point and just follows everthing up. Hope this was of some help.

I found this pic on this site ;

There’s a lot of great photos & technical drawings, probably more info than a modeler needs, but great nonetheless. Check it out (cool engine sounds on the main page, too !)

Thanks guys, this is exactly what I was looking for!
