I’m not aware of one being kitted in any scale. I did hear that there was one to be released but don’t know when or by whom.
roadkill_275: thanks a lot, i will keep looking for it, hopefully somebody knows

Panda Models is supposed to be releasing a USAF C-17 and a RAF C-17 but I don’t know when or if Panda will go through with it. Most of the helicopter forum is waiting for their 1/35 scale Chinook which kept getting it’s release date pushed back from March to May to June to July.
Hannants list two 1/72 kits for the C-17 under “future releases”, both by Panda, the C-17A and the C-17K
Well if Panda is going to release it dont hold your breath to long. Now dont get me wrong they do make some decent kits, but they really need to decide when they want to release a model and not keep the people that want their kits in suspense. Just my [2c] on this subject.
I just saw one of those this weekend at Bradley’s Space and Aviation Day. Would like to post some images if I could just figure out how and if I can find my cable for my digital camera.
AMEN, falcon. Couldn’t agree more. By the way, how their F-35 kits?
Try Rosemont Hobbies or Combat Models
They have a vacuform kit for $50 in 1/72
they also have a landing gear parts kit for it also
thats the only type kit you will find in 1/72
I’m gonna get one soon…
good luck

One of our club had the vacuform kit and said that it was very inaccurate but it is currently the only game in town.
They’re pretty much a scaled up version of the Italieri 1/72 X-35. Virtually no cockpit detail and panel lines are thick. I haven’t seen the F-35s with weapons bays, but their F-35 kits are really X-35s
Thank you all for quick response on this question

You’re welcome!
My uncle (Maj, USAF-Ret.) worked on the accounting during the production of the C-17, so this’d be a great build for me, too. [:D]
I’ve emailed Hannants to see if they have concrete release date; if so, I’ll post it here.
Just did a scale conversion for the Globemaster…the model in 1/72 will have a wingspan of 28.33", length of 29" and height of 9.18". That’s bigger than my 1/48 B-29!!! What a monster…what fun! [:D]
“I just saw one of those this weekend at Bradley’s Space and Aviation Day” (Somebody please tell me how to use that quote thingy so I can get those neat yellow boxes full of words in my queries.)
Off the subject, but wasn’t Bradley home to the Flying Yankees? I’m trying to find 1/48 markings showing that big skinny guy in the top hat on the tale of Conn. ANG F-102s. I used to have it in 1/72 on one of those multi-plane IPMS sheets, but lost it.
Just click the quote button on the post you want to quote (upper right). [:D]
