Trying to locate a 1/144 C-5A/B and C-141B. Otaki initially put out the C-5 and Dragon(?) released the 141. THEN Testors released both aircraft later. Any help finding one or both please. DO NOT want a 1/72 scale if either. No room for them. 141 is not bad, but the 1/72 Galaxy is a MONSTER! Remember the 1/48 C-130 some years ago?
The C-141B kit is probably the easiest to find…but the C-5 is nearly impossible and when you do the price is unbelievably high.
eBay and contest vendor areas are your best bet. You could also check http://www.rare-planedetective.com/ but sit down and have no liquids near the computer when you check pricing.
Dragon’s C-141 was something like 1/200, IIRC. As Gerald mentioned, Anigrand has both the C-141 and C-5 in 1/144. Scot Doepker sells (used to sell?) the very nice 1/144 C-141B that’s featured in his recent FSM article. It was very reasonably-priced, but lacks landing gear. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to mill out some gear wells on mine.
