C-130 in 1/35 or 1/32 Scale?

I’ve had a diorama idea kicking around in my head for a few years that I need some advice on. The diorama would include a C-130, a jeep, some motorcycles and some figures. My dilemma is one of scale. I would like to find a C-130 in 1/35 or 1/32 scale to coincide with the scale of the other pieces (1/35). I’ve searched high and low for a C-130 kit this size without any luck. Is there anyone out there that knows where I might find something like this?

If my search proves unsuccessful, I’d be interested to hear comments on using different scales. How noticeable would the discrepancy be if I had a 1/35 scale jeep coming off the cargo ramp of a 1/48 scale C-130?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

There aren’t any mainstream injection 1/32 scale C-130 kits available, but there may be a vacuform kit available.

The difference between 1/35 and 1/48 is too great to use together, unless you’re doing a forced-perspective diorama. With the current resurgence of 1/48 armor, perhaps you will be able to find the vehicle that you are looking for soon. There may already be a jeep or two out there.

1/35th jeep on a 1/48th ramp would be very noticeable. If you put the jeep in front of the 130 for a forced perspective, it could work. Bandai made 1/48th jeeps, but I think they are OOP. Someone else might have the molds. And there is always Ebay.

I seriously doubt your going to find a large than 1/48 C-130. It would be rediculously huge. In that scale your probably going to have to scratch build the whole thing. You may want to consider 1/72 as both the aircraft and armor are readily avaiblable… just a thought

Thanks guys!
I have thought about 1/48 scale as I can get the jeep and figures in that scale. My problem there is the motorcycles. I need a modern looking dirt bike in the 250 cc range. Tamiya has a usable one with their Japan Defence Force Motorcycle Recon Set but it’s 1/35. I may try and find some diecast bikes that are close in size.

J-Hulk, where would be the best place to look for a vacuum form kit? I’m just getting back into the hobby and am a little out of touch.

Hannarts in the U.K. has quite a selection of Vac-form kits.

That’s a very good question!
Perhaps some of our experienced vacuform modelers have an idea?

I’ve never heard of a 1/32 C-130 vac kit, but everytime I say something doesn’t exist, someone points out a vac kit to me!

Anybody? Anybody?
