C-130 decals and...

Hello,
I have airfixes 1/72 C-130 and would like to get some U.S. decals for it. Who makes these? Also does any one make a refuling “basket” for a hurcules or will I have to make one from scratch?
Thanks,
seaknight

Microscale (precurser to Superscale) made a set several years ago that had markings for the Vietnam era camo scheme. Haven’t seen it in years, but you may be able to find it once in a blue moon on E-Bay.

The current paint scheme (all gray with black lettering) shouldn’t be too hard to reproduce with some black USAF, US AIR FORCE, and national insignia stencil decals. May be difficult to come up with the all black Air Mobility Command badge and wing badges, but maybe someone out there knows of a source.

I think Airwaves may have (and may still make) refueling pods for the RAF C-130s. Not sure how they would work on a USAF C-130. Someone used to make a HC-130 conversion kit, which included the refueling pods. Seems like someone wrote in to FSM in a past issue asking about this conversion kit.

Good luck,
Dave

I’ve seen Navy buddy packs in resin by more than one maker, but none showing the actual basket, since it sort of collapses like a flower and disappears into the pod when not extended.

Micro/Super scale had a sheet long ago that includes Marine refuelers in the early 70’s, but that is probably long out of production. I have one, but intend to use it someday myself for the Marine markings. I need the refueling pods myself.
