Bunker WIP

Hi all, this is my verlinden 1/35 scale Tobruk pit. I spray painted it dark aircraft gray and then added rust streaks. The camo nets were custom made by spraying Dark Yellow and Sea Blue adn then an over coat of Dark Aircraft Grey. I’m redoing the net with a cheesecloth one as soon as I get time. Comments and criticism welcome. The figure is not permanent, just put it in for a sense of the way it is going to look.

Please excuse the clutter in the backround. I have to clean the desk soon.

thats not clutter that is progress.good start is this a small portion of something bigger?

Hi detailfreak, thanks for the input. Regarding your question, in the 3rd photo you can see in the upper right a piece of foam. The bunker will be part of my upcoming dio. The bunker will be situated on a hill overlooking a road. I’ll add some sandbags, MG34s, barbed wire, and figures to the bunker.

Well done. Is this a verlinden item or did you pour the plaster yourself?

Hi Zokissima, it is a VP product, I’m working though on a bunker by myself using cardboard, balsa wood, and plaster of paris. THanks for your input.

I don’t know if it is the flash that just gave a “washed out” appearance, but maybe add a little dark gray or black wash to bring out the detail/texture of the bunker. This will also give a little weathered look to the concrete and add a little more of a sense of depth and realism. Looks good, though, keep up the good work and keep us posted!

Oh, P.S. gauze pads (unfolded) also work well for 1/35 camo netting. Soak them in a wash of the color you want the netting to be, wring out and let dry and viola, you have ready made camo net!
