Builds of 2006 (lots of pics)

Dang !!! Nice collection you got Bill.
Crank up 14 tanks in 1 year. Looks like you got another tank factory hidden somewhere ?

Really love your Pz II Luchs.

Ben

Wow, a well built collection. The Morser is very impressive, and I really like the Shermie (that is saying a lot for a German armor guy!). I really like your subtle weathering. Nowadays, (especially around here) if it isn’t slopped with burnt umber oil wash and covered with mud, the work really doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

Now, the only problem yo have is where to put them all.

Thanks for sharing these fine models…

regards,

Steve

Thanks Ben, not quite as active as Ron’s…maybe we need to get a labor sharing agreement? [:D]

Crocket,

Much appreciated, I personally prefer the lighter weathering touch just because these end up in display cases usually vs. dios or bases, but can appreciate the heavier weathering school and techniques as well. [;)]

Wow, I think I have maybe about 1/4 of that built this year.

[^] I wouldn’t worry about how many you built. Look at “what” you built.
[:)] That big “choo choo” and the “Morser” you did would require a lot of time.

Steve

Wow Bill. Most impressice. A couple of those would ahve tanken me a whole year to build individually. Really a fine year.

Congrats on all you articles on the Big A BTW.

That’s a lot of beautifully made and weathered builds there Bill [tup] I really enjoy following your WIPs. I also enjoy looking at your build logs. Awesome!

Very nice Bill.

You do some really outstanding paint work.

an awesome year bill some beautiful work there but dont forget the great articles you have done also. some very enjoyable reads that must have taken a lot of time to do and im sure im not the only one thinks so.

Congrats my friend on a fine, fine year!![#toast][tup] – each one an example of great research in an artists hands— what could be better?-- I love em all!![:D]-- tread[:P]

Zoran, RAF120, much appreciated!

Disastermaster,

The BR52 is the most enjoyable and tortuous at the same time of them all, it took on a life of its own, to the point that I had to construct a special shelf and case cover just for it.

Ted,

Thanks as always my friend, your work while it may not be numerous is always a pleasure to see. Your PE and metalwork sets a high standard indeed, I look forward to your projects for 2007 so be sure to post!

GT, Ron,

Your encouragement is appreciated, I have almost as much fun writing the articles/build-logs as I do building, although my wife at times as had to give me the “look” about getting off the computer at times… [:D]

Treadwell,

I can’t lay claim to the depth of research and precision that you apply to your work, but I appreciate the comments and support. There are many more experienced out there in the world of research with a much deeper knowledge than I’ll ever have and those that share that knowledge willingly and freely make it so much easier for the rest of us. What research I do conduct is built on their efforts and I’m eternally grateful for that and the accessibility that forums like this and the Internet provide. Truly amazing.

[wow] Oustanding work!! [#toast]

Bill,

Inspiring collection… my favorite point overall is the spade on the back of that Pz III turret. It made me buy Solvaset.

SteveM

A very prolific collection of builds, Bill. Congratulations! All are very well done and inspiring. Here’s hoping 2007 is equally as successful for you.

Mike Kirchoff

TGregory, Mike, thanks for the comments!

Steve, Solvaset is a wonderful thing, far superior to the Testor’s stuff I was using before IMHO. It’s become a staple item on the workbench and provides a nice solution (no pun intended [;)] to what had been a long-standing area of fear for me…decal finish.
