Building Billings Boats Lila Dan I received...

A guy sent me this completed hull and I decided to finish it,Installed the prop and rudder.

Cut out a piece if plastic to protect the deck from overspray.

That’s going to be a nice model. I wasn’t familiar with that kit until you posted. It’s very nice. Also, wow it’s $ 250.00. And he gave it to you.

Hey " G " :

That’s incredible isn’t it ?

Hmmm;

That is wood , correct ? If so it’s well done . I have some Billings kits and they have vacuformed hulls .

I know a very pricey kit!Yep solid mahogany!

Box photo indicatea a black lower hull,light blue bootstrap and orange upper hull.Tamiya Semi Gloss black covered well .

After the blue dries,I will apply a 1/8" strip of masking tape to the hull followed by a few coats of orange.

Laying down the orange.

Coming along nicely. Looking good. EJ

Thanks!I have to drill the holes for the masts and bowsprit and start on the deck furniture.

I cut a slot in the masts to connect directly to the keel.

I turned a couple mast caps out of plastic with my Dremel and added brass tubing.
