hand painting in referance to bubbles. I generally thin my paint, Acrylics/lacquer paints prior to using. But, am still seeing tiny bubbles? and some streaking. I eventually eliminate them but was wondering what others do when painting small details. often I will dip the point of the brush in the thinner and gently rub out the streaks and or bubbles.
Bubbles in your paint suggests that there might be contaminants of some kind lingering on your brush. Alternately – if you shake your paint before using, rather than stirring it – you might give it a few minutes to gas out before painting.
I have to admit, in nearly six decades of dealing with model paints, the only time I’ve seen that kind of bubbles were in early-days (and fairly cheap) craft-store acrylics. This has got me kind of stumped. [^o)]
I use the brands Tamiya and Army and Vallejo in Acrylics and laquor paint
but Ill be attempting to let the paint rest after shaking or other.

Fingerprints can do that. If I have handeled a kit a lot, i give the areas to be painted a gentle cleaning with iso alchohol.
Makes me think your paint is too thin. I’ve had this happen when hand-brushing and my paint was too thin.

Been there Done that!
I have found, with Enamels anyway, that paint consistancy is part of it.The other. When you build a model. Unless you wear Nitrile of "Rubber’ gloves you are going to get contaminents in the Paint, Filler, and Primer in handling. Can’t be helped!
Now, first, at each step clean the surfaces thoroughly. Then Apply paint of choice. I used to, Oh ,more years than you’ve been around used Pactra(Gauranteed no runs!). As it went away, I used Testors and other products like everyone else.
I got in trouble first for it, but I would “Borrow” Dad’s irish Linen handkerchiefs(Snot Rags to some) and thin and filter paint till it ran smoothly through the fabric. I would let it run down the side of the jar not drain in the middle (No bubbles that way).
Excrusiantingly clean, Soft brushes for the job. Flats for Sides, Tops and Hood and Trunks! Do not stop brush in mid stroke either! Go from say lower Windshield trim, all the way to the Fender end.( Wet Brush here) Not Flooded either! Like Planes and Ships, paint with the flow of Air and Water! Not side to side. Don’t hurry either!
