Brotherhood of the Wulf(Hungarian Fw-190F-8)

Hi guys ,here is a Hasegawa 1/72 Fw-190F-8 in the colors of the
Hungarian airforce)
Decals are from the kit.It was basicly built OOB 'cept for seat belts,
brake lines and gun barrels.
The kit went together like a dream.I screwed up the decals for the
side instrument panels and had to replace them with parts from a
donor Academy D-9.
References came from pictures of the Fw-190F-8 at the NASM museum.

Thanks for your time.[:)]

Very nice plane.
Do you have a clear coat on there? or is it future with rubbing alcohol?

Thanks Warfel.

The clear coat is Gunze Super Clear. First layer out of the can ,second layer
from the airbrush to be gentle on the decals and finally a flat coat.

Obiwan, that is one nice looking Wurger.

The Hungarian markings really make it stand out.

Karl.

Very, very neat model! Superb, in fact. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see one of those birds in different markings too.

That’s really nice, obiwan. I dig the Hungarian angle!

Any chance you could post pics over on the ETO forums?

Fade to Black…

Thanks Karl ,Domi and Steve.

Karl ,Domi I was captivated by the box art of this Hungarian wulf.

Steve ,pardon my ignorance but what are the ETO forums?(Elite Tactical Ops?)
oh ok got it from google.

very nice work. looks great Jason

Very nice 190 mate. You’ve done a great job. Thanks for the pics.

Hey Obiwan, nice job!! I built the same kit in the same markings last year and it took a first at the Region 3 IPMS show in Atlanta. Having said that let me say I think your looks better than mine! Very nice job on the build and the camo work. The only photos I found of this bird showed it without the wing bombs being carried though I added them as you have. Did you find any photos of this a/c with the bombs?

Great Job Obiwan…thanks for sharing,

Joe (a fellow F/O)

Excellent build [tup]. Looks good in the Hungarian markings. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

That’s 1/72nd? Dang…you did an excellant job on the build. I also dig the hungarian markings (then again, I luv hungarian dogs - Vizsla’s- as well).
Did you paint the spinner?

Thanks jay ,pingtang ,Joe(F/O) ,Rick and wibhi2.

Joe ,thanks for for such a generous compliment.I would like to see your plane to see how it looks.
I didn’t do much research on the subject as I just wanted it to look as good as the box art. Then I added the bombs to make it look meaner. My main inspiration was an article in TMMI of the same kit but in German markings(that was an awesome build)

wibhi2 ,the spinner stripe is a decal. When I do this type of decal again I will trim it more.I had to put lots of microsol many times to get it to sit properly.

Next its back to modern jets!

obiwan outstanding work. thankyou for posting it.

joe

What a great looking bird thanks for the pics

Thad

Wonderful Wurger

Superb work Obiwan !

Another beautiful 190. Nice to see it in a different scheme. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Obiwan,

As requested…here are a couple photos of last year’s build of my 1/72 Hungarian 190F-8. It was just before I started adding antennae wires to all my a/c builds. It was probably my best build of 2003 but not up to what I’m doing now.
There is now even a skin of this a/c on my Forgotten Battles Flight sim game!

Thanks again for posting your beauty!

Joe

Thanks Joe ,Thad ,skii and tigerman.

ninedriver ,hey now I remember seeing these pics.I can see why
your plane won at the competition.I like the subtle way you did the camo and weathering.Forgotten battles ?I got to check that out.
Thanks for posting the pics ,now this thread looks like a mini group build.

Excellent!
