Very well done, I like it. It sure is different from my Desert Storm hummer.

looking good.

Looking Good, picked up one of these myself at the weekend, I was blown away by the instructions, such a complete kit. Well done she really looks lived in.

Terry.

very nice weathering and impressive interior detailing.

I like this too. Interior weathering is often over looked and you’ve done it very nicely. These vehicles get quite dirty inside. Love the NATO/Sand camo combination as well.

The gap between the top and body is I am assuming because it is not yet permanently attached (?).

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Kevin the gap was due to the fact the roof was not yet attached to the body. And he is the 99% finished product

Very nice work…love all the internal work…you should leave a door open to view. Agree with Kevin on the internal weathering

I also love the “maintenance” effecy with the green hood and a green door while the rest of the vehicle is sand…very nice

My only thought is the front windshield…the dirt is uniform…I would have thought the crew would have used the wipers or something to see better…IMO

Rounds Complete!!

Thanks Mike, looking back leaving one of the doors open would have been a good idea. But i do have M1114 Heavy and the M1151 so lots of time to try again.

I like it, the color contrast between the different components is a nice touch. [Y]

Battered and beaten. What a great look. With your talents you should do some stuff that leaves the supplies and equipment exposed, where it can be readily seen. That was some really good work. Rick.

Thanks everyone, for those of you who liked this Hummvee, here’s alittle sneak peak of whats on the bench right now.

Just a little update. Ive finished more of the Academy M1151 and i have to say that after building the bronco kit, I’m a little disappointed. The academy kit has some parts that are over simplified and lacks the detail the Bronco kit has. But i guess you get what you pay for. The Academy kit is around 36 bucks where the bronco is around 50$-60$. So i think for the added money is well worth it . [B]

The first one looks pretty good. I would open all the doors and the rear hatch. It is a shame to close it all up and lose all that great interior detail. One comment would be to clean the windows. That is the first duty of the driver when the vehicle stops; clean the windows. It doesn’t do any good to drive around w/windows you can’t see out of. Its dangerous too.

I have both the Bronco M1114 and Academy’s M1151. I haven’t built them yet, but the Academy one does look a little less detailed than the Bronco kit.

Thanks GIno, just thought for those who havent bought these kits or are thinking about it heres a comparison of the bronco hull(left) and the academy hull(right). Also the academy kit lacks the inetrior detail the Bronco kits have. The decal sheet is also much smaller on the academy kit and doesn’t include the dials, and warnings etc.

Here’s alittle update on the M1151

I’ve got that M1114 kit too; it sure is a beauty. You did a great job on it. Just a couple of suggestions for your next build. One of the last things our team did before rolling out the wire on a mission was to clean the windshield and windows all the way around the vehicle. Visibility aids in survive-ability. You can’t see a bad situation unfolding around you, if your windows are grubby, or hazed over by sand, dust, or mud. Also, the guy in the turret needs to have more “tools” in his tool box. Some times gunners encounter closer, more immediate situations that a .50 cal can’t fix. We generally kept an M4 tucked inside the turret near the main crew served weapon. When the rules of engagement allowed for it, we also kept an AT-4 (disposable anti-tank rocket launcher) around for contingency missions. Radio gear also changed dramatically as better technology became available; check references to make sure you have the right antennae for the radio you are depicting. Depending on unit of assignment and the mission of the vehicle and crew, vehicle and personnel load outs can change as well. Most of the guys I worked with carried ‘bug out’ bags; a small back pack, 3 day assault pack, or commercially available hydration/back back combo with critical survival items needed to survive in a hostile environment should the Humvee be ‘taken out.’

When in doubt, ‘more ammo, more water,’ and more ‘Derka Dew’ or other locally fabricated soda!

thanks for sharing your work; it brought back many good memories!!!

Howdy everyone, its been a while but i’ve gotten a ton of work done. First up the M1151.

Nex up is the M1114 UAH. Stowage is from Wind Mark, Kit and Hobby Boss MRE’s and water boxes.

Now here is the wind mark set. Its quite amazing. Straps are individually cast for the heavier packs, the stretcher is being bleached and primed before being attached to the M1151 and the camel backs have seperatly moulded straws. On a side note, does anyone know what colour smaller packs would be? Thanks

Very nice…love your interior detail, people forget it. The data plates add to the detail. Keep it coming!

Ditto what BigArty said! Good interior bits, especially the crushed up water bottle boxes; very authentic touch. On the smaller back packs, they appear to be a commercially designed packs. Many Soldiers will choose to purchase these in addition to their issued gear. So, as far as painting goes, they could be a number of colors and patterns; ACU digital (Army), three tone desert camo (all branches), USMC digital, coyote brown, foliage green, or black. I would take a look at several of the online stores that sell military gear, such as Ranger Joes, or U.S. Cav, to name a few.The online catalogues are a good reference for issued and commercially available gear being used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Work is awesome; keep 'em coming!!
