Hi All![8D]
I have a few questions about the british Crusader tank color/s I’m having fun with a quick build OOB italeri Mk.2 (as I learn it’s more Mk.1 then Mk.2) I can say it’s of good quality, the fitting is good and shows nice detail. Still not so sharp like Tamidragon but that’s the only choice.
Well it should be a sand/tan like color overall. Any suggestions for the right color name-brand-nomber? Maybe I should mix it ?
Now as I would guess of using Tamiya’s XF-59 for this desert color, some crusaders had splotches of a darker color. Was it dark brown (Testors - Military brown)? or dark green?
Thank’s![8D]
How about this one:

Desert yellow and black. The pattern for this camouflage was fairly consistent from vehicle to vehicle. I wouldn’t worry too much about the exact color of the Desert Yellow. The effects of heat, sun exposure and dust would play havoc on the paint. The first image I posted appeared far too yellow. This one should have a better color balance. It is currently in Ron’s upload file, it will probably move soon.
Would not worry about the black either. If I’m not mistaken, it soon became a dirty looking dark brown, no…? At least that will be easier to wash and drybrush!
You’re right DJ. If it weren’t for the caption on the print, I would have thought it was dark brown or green!
Pick a colour or two that is close and run with it … by the time you’ve finished weathering it, it will be something totally different again.
Thank you guy’s for all your helpfull tips!
Hope it will turn out as somthing nice.
Now what’s it’s gonna be black,brown,green… Hmm
