Cool! The Conqueror is one of those “mystery tanks” that casual armor builders don’t know about, including myself. I saw one at Bovington and was awestruck by its size.
Of course ask any 10 year old kid that plays “World of Tanks”, and he/she would be able to rattle off the specs!
Yeah, my hat’s off to WoT for getting kits of these ‘paper panzers’ to the market. Even if a few versions like the Super Conqueror, FV215B (183) tank destroyer, and FV217 ‘Badger’ assault gun are… well… more fictional though even if based loosly on real blueprints.
I picked up the Conqueror Mk II since it was a real tank. I like the looks of the FV217 though, I may pick up one in the future.
Cool, not surprised. Interested on how it goes with them. I haven’t had any issues with the DS tracks but some people hate them.
Well, rats, I finished this one on December 25th 2019, not knowing it was a legal entry here. An Airlines/Frog Hotspur in 1/72. So I guess it’s the dreaded Italeri Airspeed Horsa, for me. [:'(]. I’ve already build the Me-321 and “Hadrian” by Italeri.
Now that would have been nice John, thats not a glider i have seen built before. I will put you down the Horsa. I once built italeri’s WACO and didn’t find that to bad, is the Horsa really a paint to build?

For some reason my experience with Italeri kits is on about a par with Special Hobby. Both the Me-321 and the CG-4A had big flat surfaces with seams in the middle on the fuselages that took a lot of work to invisibilize. I know, just whining…
For a number of years, Accurate Armour have produced a range of 35th resin kits of British vehicles that no one else did in this scale in plastic. And while a few have not been released in plastic, the AS-90 and Fv 432 for example, many are still only done by AA and i can’t imagine them ever being done by the main stream companies. So, if you want these subjects, your only option is to go for the more expensive resin kits.
There are a few kits they produce, especially those from the Troubles, that i have wanted to do for a while, and so this is my first 35th resin vehicle. The Snatch is actually 2 conversion sets. LRA013 is the SNATCH conversion designed to be used with the Hobby Boss kit, from which you only need the chassis. But AA also sells a seperate Land Rover chassis which can be used with the HB kit as wel as with the Snatch and other Land Rover kits Accurate Armour sells. So it made sense to me to just get the chassis conversion. Its cheaper than buying the HB kit, most of which would have been waisted.
I am also adding a checkpoint sign and a figure, though i don’t have a pic of the latter yet.
I started out by building the chassis. I have learnt my lesson from building resin kits in the past and am being careful to check everything before gluing. AA instructions are not the best, a set of photo’s with parts already in place which don’t always show the presice location.
The metal springs are a little tricky, the front mounts snapped under the pressure so i had to trim the springs so they were not putting tension on the resin.
The rear axel is from the Snatch conversion, everything else is from the chassis set.
I started this Wed afternoon and it was done by Thurs night, so quicker than i expected. I then made a small start on the Snatch set, so far just getting the front together.
Again, more careful checking was needed. The image for the above was frontal only but the sills include the floor for the stowage bins on either side, so you have to be careful not to trim to much away.
Thats it for now. Going to work on the engine and rest of the front before moving onto the rear compartment.
I’ve never worked with a resin kit but maybe someday I’ll tackle that challenge. I’m afraid I’ll snap small pieces with my fumbling fingers. You’ve made some pretty good headway in a short amount of time!
Made a little headway on the Saladin. The suspension was very complicated. Assembling it was like trying to balance a basketball on a bowling ball!
You deffinetly have to be more careful removing the thinner resin piece, more fragile than plastic.
Nice progress, i imagine making sure al the wheels touch the ground was tricky.
Opened the box and will clean the parts. The Lewis Gun and engine were not good and I ordered a Small Stuff Models 1/72 Gnome 100 hp engine and a two pack of Fine Molds 1/72 Lewis Guns.

But I digress. I would like to do the MENG ROLLS-ROYCE ARMOURED CAR. I would really like to do one for the RNAS in Romania/Bessarabia in 1917 after the Romanians where attacked for joining the Allies. If not, I can do one for Dunsterforce in Persia and Baku 1918. Or down the road the MK-V Composite commanded by Major Ewen Cameron Bruce of the British Army who helped capture Tsaritsyn in 1919. Спасибо.

I willdo a Dunster Force one. I assume it will be single desert sand type color as they came out of Baghdad, thru Persia to the Caspian Sea and into Baku.
