So, we have had the Brylcream Boys and the Senior service, now its time for the real work force in the UK’s armed forces. 2020 is the time for the British Army Group build.
The GB will be open to any British Army subject, be it air, land or sea. Be it an RFC Bi-Plane of WW1 or an Apache AH-1 of the AAC, a soldier of the New Model Army to a Challenger tank or a river patrol boat, they can all be included. And just to claify, gliders in WW2 were flown by the Army’s Glider Pilots Regt, so they are included as well.
While the British Army dates back to 1660 and the restoration of the Monachy, and the formation of the English Army, it has its origins in the New Model Army of the English Civil War and so the GB can include subject’s going back to that conflict. So if your a budding figure painter and you fancy a Napoleonic war’s figure, now is your chance.
The GB can include none British subjects under British command. These could be Commonwealth troops in the N African desert or US Airbourne troops during Market Garden, or any other none UK forces. If your not sure, just ask.
And i am sure this will please any Bootnecks out there [:D], seeing as the Royal Marines do have have their origins in the English Army and the Duke of York and Albany’s maritime regiment of Foot formed in 1664, and as the RM were not covered by Steve’s British ships GB, Royal Marine subjects can also be included.
The GB will begin on the 1st Jan and run throughout 2020. Partially started kits can be included, but the most important 2 rules are to have fun and post plenty of pics. Your build can be OOB or full of after market and cross overs are fine.
You only have to sign up for 12 months service instead of the minimum of 4 and while you won’t get a Queen’s Shilling, you can take your choice of one of 3 badges ( you lucky people).
Firstly, we have the good old British Square.
Then something for the flyboy’s.
And finally, some modern armour. As soon as i saw this image, i knew i had to use it, would have been against Army Regulation’s not to.
Any questions, just ask.
So, what you waiting for.
