British armor sand?

The warrior that I am building is from the latest conflict.
My question that I have is this.
Was the paint color used universal to all allied vehicales .
(or)
Did the british use a different paint color from the americans.

It seems to me that the british desert sand is more yellow than the american desert sand.
Does anyone make this color if it is different from the american desert sand.

Thanks for the help.[;)] [;)]

The British color is more yellow than U.S. desert sand. I’m using British armor gulf light stone (or something to that effect) by Modelmaster. It looks very good on the AS-90 I’m finishing in OIF markings.

I hope you realize that you have forced me to repaint my Challenger 1 Mk. 3… [;)]
I had it partially painted (lower hull and road wheels) in Humbrol 250 Desert Sand. I thought it looked funny, it had a slight pinkish hue. Then I discovered pictures that showed the colour to be much more yellow. [:(]
I guess I could leave it that way, but I just know it will haunt me forever knowing that I used the wrong colour…
(later I realized Humbrol 250 Desert Sand is correct for the British aircraftof Gulf War 1)

OOPS…
Sorry about that.
I could not find the british armor gulf light stone at my local hobby shop so I decided to make my own out of model master armor sand, testers flat yellow ,and model master flat white mixed about 2 parts sand, 2 parts yellow and 1 part white.
It looks close but I know the tint will change a little after I shoot it on to the kit.
I guess if the colors not right then I could cover it with pastel powder and call it field warn.

I was only kidding. [:D]
It’s just a coincidence that I read about it on here. Too bad it was a little too late though, but that is my fault. I should have registered a few weeks earlier. [;)]
Anyway, I am going to repaint the lower hull and road wheels. Too bad about the weathering, it was pretty good. Will have to do it again.
The colour I was talking about is in the ModelMaster 2 line (or at least that is what it is called here in Europe).

We have modelmaster-2 line here also but at my local hobby shop they don’t have the color codes so I do not know weather its flat, semi gloss or gloss.
I have to look it up on line only after I buy it.
They do however have the code key for modelmaster 1 line.

I think it’s a flat, but then again, I have noticed there are differences between the US and Europe sold paints. First of all, we don’t have all the paints (there are colours missing). Second, the acrylic versions are not sold here (I wonder why?). Third, there is only one size bottle. Also impossible to get here: Polly Scale and Gunze Sangyo. [:(]

anyone has the mr. color or tamiya paint (color mix formula) recommendations which close to the stated color chip?

Thanks!

you can get a close match in tamiya if you mix dark yellow and white but I have never tried this so I can give you any specific advice…
