It is with sadness that the world greets the News. Queen Elizabeth 2, passed today. May she rest in Peace! My condolences to the Royal Family and the CountryMen and Women of England, My family’s prayers are with you:
Talk about the end of an era!
I’m no great fan of royalty as a concept…but the old girl served her nation with unflappable dignity, grace and a certain style, doing a difficult job in an ever-changing world. My condolences to her family and fellow citizens.

Sad news indeed. Definately an end of an era…dear old Queenie is all I have ever know all my life (57yrs).
Unfortunately I am out of UK on business for this month so I am going to miss most everything and what I do see is going to be thru t’internet.
God bless her and may she rest in peace…will be greatly missed by many throughout the world.

Few things remain constant throughout one’s lifetime. I’m not a young man, and Her Majesty has been Queen for all of my yrs.
A respectful tip of my hat to all of our British friends. I wonder if it is possible for a US born and raised person (like myself) to comprehend your feelings right now.
The world mourns the loss of a Royal Sovereign, a Head of State who served her people through seven decades of war and peace, an enduring symbol of the British Commonwealth and its history, and a great lady, loving wife, and mother. My condolences to her family, the British people, and her subjects in the Commonwealth nations around the world.
As an Australian I can honestly say that my wife and I are devestated. She was our Queen and had been there for the whole of our lives. An amazing mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. A wonderful role model for any young person. Such grace and dignity. I swore my oath of allegiance to her when I joined the Royal Australian Navy and I recieved an OAM from her, (not in person), in the Queens Birthday lists some years ago. Truly the end of an era. Sadly, Australia will probably now become a republic, opening up another trough for the politicians to get their snouts into and bugger up our country some more.
A sad, sad day. God bless her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Rest In Peace.

Me, too, Dodgy - a symbol of steadiness in the face of all difficulties, and a mother to us all - I admired her massively. I also swore the same oath, as a soldier of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. I feel a bit adrift, just now. I can’t imagine shedding tears over the death of a politician, but the Queen was like a family member. I wept at the news of her death, and I’m not ashamed of it. Presidents and Prime Ministers come and go at the whim of current fancies, but a family and institution embedded in the structure of a society far bigger than any single country is a source of pride and inspiration. We have a new leader, now - God Save The King.

To all of you who had the Queen as your Quiet, Strong and Ever graceful Mother Figure, My thoughts and prayers are with you as well as with the Royal Family. I earned many years wages under that proud Flag. I will miss her too. Brothers in kind I am with you now. I was in the British Merchant Marine in a time of Growth and pride. My Homeport? LiverPool! Long Live the King!
My condolences to our mother country, while a citizen of the USA, born and raised, I often found myself in awe of the pomp and circumstance involved with the Royals. We gained our independence however Great Brittan has always been a steadfast ally.
The world is alittle darker tonight with the passing of Her Majesty, I can onky hope that from her example the redt of us can figure it out. God save the King.

Yes a big shock for all of us, I hope!
Although not meeting our great Queen, I had met both her late Husband Prince Phillip and Prince Charles as he was then. That was during volunteering at Silverstone Circuit, Whilst on Air Traffic Control. This was soon after I joined the team there, I was abouit 25 years old. They both flew in, in helicopters of the Queens Flight. Phillip was being piloted whilst Charles piloted the other Wesland Helicopter.
As I was on duty and the ‘new’ boy I had to meet and greet them and their guests. They were very interested in what we did so chatted for a while until one of the personal staff reminded them of the time. Later after Prince Charles first Married to Diana and had the two boys, they flew in occasionally, and like the other Royals they all wanted to know what we did there.
Prince Charles now King Charles 3rd was born in the same year as me 1948 me in March so I’m 74 but Charles is still 73 as he was later in the year (October or November).
Along with 90% of the rest of us.
