Bristol Beaufighter details for cockpit, observer's pit

I have a Revell 1/32 scale Beaufighter, and I want to try my hand at scratch-building the cockpit and observer’s station. I need good photos and/or detailed technical drawings of these areas. Does anyone know of websites, museums, etc., that I could apply to for this information?

Thanks to all who reply.

With best regards,

Steve Mack

Mate…there’s one reference…and it’s beautiful.

_**The Bristol Beaufighter**_
_**A Comprehensive Guide for the Modeler from Modellers Datafile #6**_

It’s fantastic - a guy loaned me his for some resin conversion work - and I thought it was about the clearest, most concise book I’ve seen on the Beaufighter - it’s published for modelers, not historians.

It’s worth every penny…trust me.

If you got the Revell you NEED this book!!
This book also lists (as of 2002) all known kits, conversions, resins, decals & canopies in all scales, worth it for that alone!

Neil from Paragon designs (some stuff available from Hannants, UK) did start, but NOT finish, some resin conversions for this Beau, eg not available as of July this year!
The Revell kit is 1960/70’s very basic cockpit, basic single (!) engine detail, inch-thick windscreen a totaly innacurate mid-gunners’ wind-screen, & old decals!
I also had the Revell/Lodella, which dissapointed me, so sold on, but this is/was the only torpedo, mini-P/E & Vac canopies with good decals available, it’s a better starting point for detailing. A good model can be made, but not a ‘quickie build’ here, [:-^]

Pick up one of the excelent Tamiya 1/48 Beau’s, 3 or 4 different variations, it’s a jewel, & you could use it as a pattern for the necessary work on the revell
me, I sold all my 1/32 planes & am replacing them with the new 1/48th, as & when, now all i got to do is BUILD one!
