Bridges at Toko-Ri Panther

My first venture outside the safety of the Ships forum where I normally lurk and hoping someone here on the aircraft forum can give me a pointer: I have seen the film “the bridges at Toko-Ri” several times and would love to turn the new Trump Panther into “Brubaker’s” aircraft. Are there any after market decals for this version available (yet) ?

Cheers,

There was an old Superscale sheet for those markings. It is currently out of print but with their habit of re relasing markings on new sheets, it’s a good bet they will release those again. Not sure if any other company is planning to release new ones. Also, I believe one of the later Monogram issues of their F9F came with those markings.

Revells re-issue of the F9F-5 Panther came with decals for Lt. Brubaker’s jet. It is kit number 85-6865 and it came with the historical book (which was pretty nice). A quick check of eBay does not show any for sale.

Thanks for the response !

cheers,

Julian

Julian,

I currently have that Monogram kit and it is a pretty easy build. I am building it for a friend of mine who was a jet jockey in the late 50’s and early 60’s. The book that came with it is very good about the general history of early jet naval aviation. The following link is a good reference for panther info: http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/howard_mason/f9f-5_125295

In the book, he flew an F2H Banshee… be neat to build the planes from the book and the movie and stick them on a carrier deck display. [:)]

Be sure and post pics when you’re done!
