brewster Buffalo walkaround?

Does anyone have any walkaround pics of the Brewster Buffalo, particularly a shot up in the landing gear bay where you can see the rear of the engine? Classic gives you a resin part for the visible portion of the engine, but it appears like it should have some plumbing. No idea what to add. ARC doesn’t seem to have a walk around and Google so far hasn’t turned up much

I think the best reference out there is Squadron’s “in action” book. Since there are no remaining Buffalo’s today a modern “walkaround” might be hard to come by. The Finnish liked the Buffalo so much that they attempted to reverse engineer it. There used to be a walkaround of one these at: http://www.trerc.fi/galleria/tikka1 but sadly it no longer exists.

Thanks. The Squadron book doesn’t have the shot I need. I thought I heard the Finns found one in a lake in 2000 and were restoring it (might have been one of those reversed engineered ones you mentioned. I was hoping there might be some restoration shots or something

I found this site its the one they found in the lake

Thats the one I was thinking of. Wonder if there are more pics floating around? Thanks a bunch

Those Finnish-built aircraft were called Humus.

For some info about these aircraft, look HERE.

The walkaround that’s now gone wouldn’t have helped you all that much with your problem, as these are the only photos showing the general area you want to look at…

Can’t see a whole lot, unfortunately.

Also, the walkaround might not help much in general if you’re building anything but a Humu… as the Finnish built machines may have varied from the Brewster-built machines in countless ways. But if you’d like to see the whole set of images, email me…

email sent. Thanks!
