Border Models 1/35 SBD Dauntless

Hey, @Aggieman, I think I found your next project!

Makes me wish I had more work space…

@gomeral Looks like a fine kit, but I will pass on it. I built a 32nd scale Dauntless a few years ago, which is enough for me. With the number of unbuilt 32nd scale kits I have in my stash, I actually don’t have room for bigger kits (and not certain where I will put these that I still have to build).

I also wonder where the push is coming from suddenly for 35th scale aircraft? Is there some desire to match it with armor?

Well, far be it from me to push unneeded kits into anyone’s stash, but it definitely looks like a cool kit. Also, you bring up a fair point that I didn’t notice at the time - 1/32 vs 1/35. Don’t think I can answer that, but I have to say that if it is being done to match armor scale, they could have picked a better aircraft!

I think Border has done several 1/35 aircraft recently. Pearl Harbor aircraft like the Val and Kate, I think a Fw190.

That’s a cool looking kit! @Aggieman if you need help completing any kits, you know, due to time constraints, I’d be happy to help.

@dadoffour Sorry, this is my plan for my retirement when we’re not traveling. :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t seen a Val by Border in 1/35, but I have seen the Kate and a Zero. They also make a BF-109, Fw-190, and Ju-87 in 1/35. I have seen all of those in our warehouse at work.

I was mistaken about the Val. What I was thinking of turned out to be a 32nd scale kit by Infinity Models.

I was not aware of this kit but I’m definitely interested in it. I once had the old Matchbox SBD and presently have the Trumpeter kit in my stash.

Oh I’m all over that one. Enjoying their Spitfire in the scale now…
