Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why is the turret marked like a ruler?

If I remember, the brits had some of these on LSTs or LCTs (I can’t remember which) and used them for direct fire support of the D-Day landings. The markings helped them align on a target…somehow…

Actualy a very nice job on both…good weathering on the Centaur as well!

Imagine you’re the gunner in a pzkw IV and you’re looking through your marvellously good optics but you seem to be seeing double … you just can’t focus the graticule …
