My Dad sent me some pics he found on the net featuring the Blue Angels. I still have not seen them fly the 18’s in person but have seen them perform in the Phantom and Skyhawk. I will add to this when I dig out my pics and get them scanned. If you have any you would like to add, please let me know.
Also, if you know the photographer of any of these shots, I would like to give them credit and/or if any of these are copyrighted and need to be removed I need to know that too.
Very Cool! Thanks for sharing. I thing many of the photos may have come from the Blue Angels website. I have some of them on my computer at work. BTW, having grown up in Pensacola and now living in Jacksonville, I’ve seen the Blues perform in every a/c type from the F-11 Tiger on. I may even have seen them fly the F9-F but was too young to remember.
I love watching the short roll take-off. He sets the gear handle in the up or retracted position and as the aircraft reaches flying speed, the weight-on-wheels censor notices that there is NO weight and allows the gear to come up immediately. Very cool, and potentially very dangerous.[8D][tup]
Got an email back from the Blues saying any pics by DOD are not copyrighted so ok to use.
Just not sure about the shots from the ground.
Will have to get the pics I have of the A-4s scanned and added and open a couple of new topics for my Thunderbird and Snow Birds pics.
